Dispatch Management System (vehicles, docks and load building)
What this does
Dispatch management plans the loading and departure side of deliveries: which vehicle takes which batch of transfers, from which dock, with which driver, and how full the truck is against its payload and volume limits. WindoorERP has such a layer (Stock Transport, the dispatch management system) — and it is not enabled on this system. It builds on batch transfers and the fleet register, neither of which is installed, so there are no dispatch screens here today. Earlier versions of this page also promised map-based route planning; that feature does not exist in this capability at all, so it is not something enabling the module would bring.
What enabling it would add
- Batch transfers extended with a Vehicle, a vehicle category, a Driver, and a Dock chosen from the warehouse's dock locations.
- Load building against the vehicle's payload and volume capacity, with used-capacity percentages as you assign transfers.
- A dispatch calendar of batches by dock and departure time, driven by the batch's scheduled and end dates.
- All of it presupposes the fleet register (vehicles, categories, drivers) and batch transfers being live first.
In the meantime
Dispatch here is run on the delivery transfer itself: the Vehicle and Route fields you fill before printing the WinDoor Delivery Note are free-text, deliberate, and on paper with the driver. That covers the record-keeping; what the module would add is the planning surface — capacity math, docks, and a calendar — not the facts themselves.
Asking for it
If your delivery days involve several vehicles, competing dock slots, or loads bumping against weight limits, that is the signal this layer earns its keep. Ask your WindoorERP administrator for the dispatch management capability, and note that it arrives together with batch transfers and a fleet register to maintain.
