Manage glass offcut inventory racks and reusable remnant sheets

1 min read Updated 2026-08-28 WindoorERP 19.0

What this does

Tracks high-value glass remnants stored in A-frame harp racks, automatically incorporating them into future small-window cutting batches.

Before you start

  • Define minimum square meter and width/height remnant limits for glass stock.

Steps

Glass offcut inventory list with dimensions, glass types, and storage rack IDs

Important

Store glass offcuts strictly on padded vertical harp racks separated by glass thickness to prevent surface abrasion and micro-fractures.

  1. 01
Open Production › Cutting & Offcuts › Glass Offcut Inventory.
  2. 02
Review remaining glass pieces by glass type (Clear, Tinted, Low-E, Laminated), thickness (6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm), and rack slot.
  3. 03
Tag and record new glass remnants directly from completed cutting tables.
  4. 04
Verify edge integrity to ensure remnants stored on harp racks have clean, uncracked perimeters.

Common mistakes

  • Storing Low-E coated offcuts without protective film, leading to atmospheric oxidation.
  • Keeping irregular non-rectangular offcuts that cannot be clamped on automatic cutting tables.
