Register double-head saws, corner crimpers, CNC routers, and required operator skills

1 min read Updated 2026-08-28 WindoorERP 19.0

What this does

Maintains an asset registry of specialized fenestration machinery, associating required technical operator skills (e.g. 5-Axis CNC Programming, Precision Mitre Sawing) with machine assignments.

Before you start

  • Machine asset serial numbers and manufacturer technical specs on hand.

Steps

Machines inventory list showing equipment codes, serial numbers, and maintenance statuses

Machine asset profile form with operational specifications, technical tolerances, and maintenance schedules

Operator technical skills and certifications catalog

Important

Linking operator skill matrices with machine operations prevents junior fabricators from inadvertently operating high-precision 5-axis CNC profile machining centers.

  1. 01
Navigate to Production › Configuration › Machines and click New.
  2. 02
Record machine name (e.g. Emmegi Double Head Saw 550), serial number, brand, model, and assigned work center.
  3. 03
Set technical constraints including maximum profile width, blade cutting angles, and CNC stroke limits.
  4. 04
Go to Operator Skills to define certifications (e.g. Certified CNC Programmer, Master Corner Crimper).
  5. 05
Restrict critical machine operations to operators holding verified competency skills.

Common mistakes

  • Allowing uncertified operators to perform manual saw angle calibrations.
  • Failing to update machine asset records after major motor or PLC drive retrofits.
