Schedule preventive machine maintenance plans and log breakdown repairs

1 min read Updated 2026-08-28 WindoorERP 19.0

What this does

Protects factory uptime by scheduling routine preventive maintenance (saw blade sharpening, pneumatic cylinder lubrication, CNC spindle calibration) and tracking emergency repairs.

Before you start

  • Machines registered and maintenance technician teams assigned.

Steps

Preventive maintenance plans list with recurring schedules and machine links

Maintenance plan configuration form detailing checklist tasks and frequency triggers

Maintenance requests queue list tracking open repair tickets and priority ratings

Maintenance request form logging breakdown causes, repair duration, and replacement parts

Important

Routine sharpening of circular carbide-tipped saw blades every 1,500 cuts prevents aluminium profile edge burring and ensures hermetic corner joints.

  1. 01
Open Production › Maintenance › Maintenance Plans to define recurring service schedules.
  2. 02
Set interval triggers based on calendar periods (e.g. Weekly Saw Guide Lubrication) or operating hours.
  3. 03
When an unexpected machine stoppage occurs, log a ticket under Maintenance Requests.
  4. 04
Record maintenance technician labor hours, spare parts consumed (e.g. pneumatic valves, bearings), and resolution notes.

Common mistakes

  • Postponing scheduled preventive maintenance during peak delivery seasons, leading to catastrophic spindle failure.
  • Closing repair requests without logging replaced spare parts, distorting machine total cost of ownership (TCO).
