Optimize 2D flat sheet glass cutting layouts and double glazing runs

1 min read Updated 2026-08-28 WindoorERP 19.0

What this does

Optimizes 2D guillotine cutting nesting for jumbo glass sheets (3210mm x 2250mm / 6000mm x 3210mm), reducing expensive glass waste and edge breakout.

Before you start

  • Glass sheet master products, spacer depths, and edge grinding allowances configured.

Important

Ensure Low-E coated glass is designated for automatic edge deletion grinding along the perimeter before double-glazing sealing.

  1. 01
Navigate to Production › Cutting & Offcuts › Glass Cutting Plans.
  2. 02
Create a new glass optimization batch for confirmed double/triple glazed unit orders.
  3. 03
Inspect the nested 2D visual layout displaying primary (X), secondary (Y), and tertiary (Z) break lines.
  4. 04
Review thickness compatibility, low-E coating orientation, and argon gas spacer line associations.
  5. 05
Send cut sequences to CNC automatic glass cutting tables or generate printed breakout diagrams.

Common mistakes

  • Nesting annealed and tempered glass panels in the same fabrication sequence without tracking furnace batch limits.
  • Ignoring grain and coating orientation on reflective glass panels.
