Guided journey
1- First Time Log in System
The first hour in a new WindoorERP database: get in, look around, then set up the company, its email, its people and their languages.
Everything in this path happens once, at the beginning, and everything that comes after it depends on it being right. It starts with your own login and ends with a database your colleagues can work in: their accounts, their access, their language, and email that actually leaves the building.
Follow it in order. The first four steps are for everyone; from Set up your company and its branches onwards you need administrator rights, so if that is not you, hand the journey over at that point.
By the end you will be able to
- Log in, set your own password, and protect the account with two-factor authentication
- Find any screen in WindoorERP, and get help without leaving the one you are on
- Report a problem or a suggestion straight to the WindoorERP team
- Set up your company, its branches, and the details that print on your documents
- Send and receive email from the database, and work out why one did not arrive
- Add your colleagues, give each of them the right access, and let everyone work in English or Arabic
Before you start
- An invitation email from WindoorERP, or a login someone has already given you
- Administrator rights — needed from step 5 (company setup) onwards
- Your company details to hand: legal name, address, logo, tax number, and the branches you work from
- The mailbox and mail server details WindoorERP should send from, if you intend to do the email steps
The path
01
Get in and find your way
- 01 Get in for the first time Everything starts with your own account: the invitation, the password you choose, and the two-factor code that keeps the account yours. 4 min Log in to your WindoorERP account
- 02 Learn where everything lives Ten minutes here saves hours later. The apps menu, the breadcrumb, the systray and Ctrl+K are the whole of navigation. 2 min Find your way around WindoorERP
- 03 Find the manual without leaving your work This manual opens beside what you are doing, filtered to the screen you are on — including the journey you are reading now. 2 min Get help without leaving your screen
- 04 Know how to reach us before you need to Learn how to report a problem before you hit one. A screenshot and one clear sentence beat a phone call you have to repeat. 4 min Send feedback to the WindoorERP team
02
Make it your company
03
Turn on email
- 06 Understand the mail flow before you change it Read this before touching a server setting: it explains which messages leave, which arrive, and what an alias actually does. 4 min Understand how WindoorERP sends and receives email
- 07 Let customer replies land on the record Incoming mail turns a customer's reply into chatter on the right order, instead of a private inbox nobody else can see. 16 min Receive incoming email in the database
- 08 Make the database able to send Outgoing mail is what makes quotations, invitations and password resets reach anyone at all. 13 min Send outgoing email from the database
- 09 Diagnose the email that never arrived Keep this step bookmarked. It is the checklist for the day something does not arrive: the queue, the server, the domain and the spam verdict, in that order. 14 min Fix an email that did not arrive
04
Bring your team in
- 10 Install the languages your team reads Add Arabic — or any other language — once, at database level, before people start choosing it for themselves. 2 min Add a language for your team
- 11 Give every colleague their own account Every colleague gets their own login. A shared account destroys the audit trail and costs a seat anyway. 11 min Add and manage users
- 12 Decide who may see and do what Access rights decide what each person can reach. Set them deliberately now, rather than after someone posts an invoice by accident. 15 min Set access rights for a user
- 13 Let each person choose their own language The last step is personal: everyone picks their own interface language, and the whole layout follows — right-to-left included. 2 min Switch between English and Arabic
