Why this step

Scrapping an assembled frame destroys material, labour and a delivery date at once. An approval matrix makes that a decision with a name attached, at the level the loss justifies.

What this does

Enforces governance over high-value scrap disposals, architectural deviation approvals, and design change requests across factory management.

Before you start

  • Approval matrices configured with role hierarchies (Floor Supervisor, Production Manager, Plant Director).

Steps

Production approval requests queue list with pending engineering authorizations

Approval request detail form with cost breakdown, justifications, and digital sign-off buttons

Approval matrices configuration defining approval tiers by financial threshold

Important

Scrap authorizations exceeding financial thresholds (e.g. > 5,000 SAR) require dual sign-off from both Production Management and Cost Accounting.

    Open Production › Approvals › Approval Requests to view pending authorizations.

    Inspect the technical justification, scrap financial cost impact, and engineering documentation.

    Authorized managers click Approve or Refuse with mandatory explanatory notes.

    Configure approval rules under Production › Configuration › Approval Matrices.

Common mistakes

  • Scrapping expensive thermal-break profiles before obtaining formal digital approval in the system.
  • Approving dimension deviations without confirming architectural consultant sign-off.
