Get a signature that means something

Why this step

The sign-off screen shows the customer what they are agreeing to before the pen touches glass: how many openings were measured, the total area, and — the part that matters most — which ones were not measured and why. Record who signed and in what capacity, because whoever is willing to sign is often not the person authorised to. If nobody is available, say so and why. That is a normal outcome, and recording it is better than a scribble from whoever was nearest.
